RESIDENTIAL DESIGN – CHICHESTER
This project completely transforms a modest 3 bed house into a large family home that it’s plot deserves. Through a combination of front, side, rear extensions and a complete loft renovation, the quality of space has dramatically improved, as well as it’s curb appeal.
The existing layout and previous works completely disjointed the spaces within the house, which were irregular and impractical. Re-locating the staircase and re-designing the circulation within the property allowed the main entrance to be brought to the front of the plot and celebrated with a large feature doorway and entrance hall.
Extending the house to the width of the plot allowed for the serviceable spaces (utility, shower room, office & gym) to be tucked away on one side of the hallway. This freed up the rest of the property to be home to a feature staircase, a generously sized snug room and a grand, open planned kitchen, lounge, dining room with expansive glazing out to the garden.
A large, full width, rear extension on the first floor houses the master bedroom, complete with walk in wardrobe, en suite and juliett balcony. This once again frees up more space at the front of the property for a large family bathroom and 2 more double bedrooms, one of which utilises the new front gable with a double height vaulted ceiling. The loft room then adds an additional bedroom and en suite to the property, as well as an abundance of extra storage for the home.
The overall aesthetic of the property is modern, through the use of external materials such as microcement and render. Both the front and rear of the property are formed using sleek geometry and a thick framing system, again giving it a contemporary look.
